CLUB PREMIER AT ASBURY PARK APPROVAL DRAWS CHEERS
JACKSON TWP., NJ—Paramount Homes, a multiple award-winning
builder of luxury home communities, has received Planning Board
approval from the City of Asbury Park for its ambitious and
widely anticipated project aimed at revitalizing the city’s
oceanfront. The builder, whose plans include 153 waterfront
condominium units, received repeated applause from the local
residents in attendance at the meeting.
Known as “Club
Premier at Asbury Park,” the project has already been
granted crucial permitting from the State of New Jersey to
develop the prime oceanfront area just north of the Berkeley-Carteret
Hotel.
Residents offered positive remarks about the design of the
three mid-rise buildings in which the condominium units will
be housed, citing the complementary “fit” with
classic city landmarks such as Conventional Hall and the Paramount Theater,
as well as the Berkeley-Carteret Hotel itself. Mediterranean
style architecture
was employed in two of the buildings in order to maintain a decidedly waterfront
character—as well as emit a special casual charm—on the oceanfront
location. The third building mimics the style of the Berkeley-Carteret Hotel
as is projected in the city’s waterfront development plan.
An architect
from the Hillier Group made the presentation of the structures—rising
from 4 to 8 stories—which include a dual-level parking garage that
will be “screened” from the west side of Ocean Avenue by luxury
brownstones to enhance the streetscape. The presentation also included plans
for extensive
landscaping throughout the project.
Each unit of Club Premier at Asbury
Park will feature from 1 to 3 bedrooms, and from approximately
1,200 to 2,500
sq. ft. of living space with luxury
appointments befitting an oceanfront environment and the architectural
detailing. Homeowners
will be availed of a central courtyard located above the upper level parking
garage. The courtyard will be privately accessed directly from the beachfront,
and overlook Ocean Avenue and the boardwalk, ensuring private viewing of
boardwalk events, while providing seclusion and privacy for residents.
The courtyard
will
entail carefully landscaped gardens, walking paths, a swimming pool and
sundeck. Showers and bathrooms will be positioned nearby,
as will a fitness facility
accessible to homeowners at all times. A multi-purpose meeting room will
serve gatherings
and private parties.
Paramount Homes will soon present
plans to the Asbury Park Planning Board for a second project,
totaling 200
oceanfront condominiums one block north
of the
previously approved properties.
As one of the most respected builders
at the Jersey Shore, Paramount Homes enjoys a reputation
for insightful planning and attention to the
needs
of location-specific housing requirements,
as well as a strong commitment to environmental compatibility.
Club Premier at Asbury Park has been
planned to successfully
accommodate both the needs of the city and the “Smart Growth” initiatives
espoused by the State of New Jersey and an increasing number of municipalities.
In maintaining
its Smart Growth posture, Paramount Homes plans to redevelop the
deteriorated Mantoloking Cove section of Brick Township with luxury
waterfront condominiums,
a marina and restaurant, while continuing to pursue other areas which
would benefit from Smart Growth development.
